Kia and Tarrick visited the Dominican Republic in November from New York. They came for a small wedding in Bavaro beach with close friends and family, so our job started at the beauty salon around 2PM. We wanted some photos for Kia while getting her make up and hair done. Then we went to the groom´s room.
Tarrick wanted to be on his own before the ceremony, he was even ironing his clothes for himself. That´s a man that can do everything. Watch and shoes were very important to him, so we took detail pictures and we walked to Kia´s room, just right next door. Kia was with her mum and sister, who helped her putting the dress on and with the final touches.
She looked relaxed and confident, and enjoying the moment. That´s what we absolutely recommend, for the bride health, and because that ´s awesome for us and gives us many beautiful portraits and smiles full of love. The ceremony was very emotive, both had prepared some lines and read it meaning every word, and even some tears popped by.
The rest of the wedding was great, a dinner with close friends and family and a bit of dancing by the beach. Not bad at all!
Remember, we are in the Caribbean and everything can happen here, for the good and for the bad. In this case, a tropical storm that was not invited to the wedding came anyway and crashed the couple plans. Unfortunately they had to change the beautiful ceremony by the beach for a plan B ceremony indoors.
We are prepared for this kind of situations where you have to change your plans and suddenly we find ourselves shooting in an unknown place and with a very bad light system. In our case, we always carry enough gear and tools to turn the darkest basement into a beautiful environment.
We have to say the couple was enjoying at any time, as it was their big day and everyone made an extra effort to get the best of it. Congratulations to Emily and John who had a great wedding at the Hard Rock Hotel in the middle of the tropical storm Erika. We wish you all the best in the world. As they say, rain during the wedding means a happy marriage.

Remember a previous engagement post from Eboni and Leon we published in 2014? Well, during that job, we also became their wedding photographers for their marriage, in the heart of the Lovers State: Ruckersville, Virginia. We enjoy traveling so you can count on us if you like our job, and we will attend for you always trying to keep in mind a reasonable low travel budget.
The wedding took place during a whole weekend at the Rosebrook Inn, a great country house amidst hills, mountain views, trees, and farmland, fully equipped for any family event and celebrations. It was a little wedding, with around 80 guests, everything was perfectly organized and it was a big pleasure for us to attend. We shot the rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding, it was a success and everybody enjoyed Eboni and Leon´s presents.
The wedding day was long, the groom was ready before 9 AM and the ceremony was at 4PM!! So, he was already dressed up when we went to shoot his Get Ready images!! That meant we had to take him just for a few portraits with his father and friends. Then we went to shoot the gorgeous bride, while she was having her hair ready. We could capture some moments of fun with her friends and some cute portraits of her with her mother and grandmother.
Step by step, the time for the ceremony was approaching, bride was so excited and everyone was so busy. At that time, the couple went together for a first sight in the terrace and we able to capture the emotion of this moment, in which the bride gave a present to her future husband. Then everyone went for the final details and they started walking down the aisle in couples, and taking their positions.
The bride was stunning and everyone cheered at her. The ceremony was beautiful with this mountain background. The reception was a great success too, everybody was dancing and enjoying so much.
The very next day, we met Eboni and Leon at 7AM, and we went to the nearby fields to capture their love for each other with the best morning lights available. We also took some photos of the rings and some other precious objects for them, and then our job was done. We really enjoyed attending this wedding, we are based in the Dominican Republic but we love traveling within the US from time to time.
As photographers, we are really proud that our job was good enough for Eboni and Leon to take us to their wedding in Ruckersville, Virginia. We wish them a great success in life together!!
José and Jessica are a beautiful couple from the United States who live and work in the area. The made their reservation with us with a lot of time in advance, as they were really sure about what they wanted for their wedding and how they wanted it.
Their wedding day was awesome, with a great light for taking the best pictures. Every detail and decors were carefully chosen and that made our job even better as everything combined. Even the sunglasses matched with the bridesmaid dress colors!! We really enjoyed, and we are very proud of the results. Congratulations Jessica and José!!
