Danielle and Preston honeymoon session in Macao Beach

Danielle and Preston honeymoon photo session in Macao beach

This was our last photo session before Mathew hurricane arrived to Dominican Republic. The weather was so cloudy and a bit windy, and it was goint to get worse so… we had to shoot on that day!

Danielle And Preston wanted a candid and romantic photosession, so as to celebrate their honeymoon. With a great style, they had chosen their appearence carefully and they combined perfectly with each other. We absolutely loved her dress, lightweight and perfect for capturing wind movement. On his side, a white shirt emphasized his colorful tattoos.

We started our photo session with some portraits and, later on, couple pictures in different areas of the beach, surrounded by palm trees. We continued with some detail shots and we finished with some action images with them running along the beach!

We are very happy with the results and we hope you enjoy this pictures as much as we enjoyed making them! Thanks for trusting us even with this very bad weather!

Tenille and Rajiv engagement photo session in Uvero Alto

What a nice couple! They were coming to Punta Cana to enjoy a caribbean holiday and wanted romantic and natural engagement pictures.

We offered them our popular spot in Uvero Alto Beach because we love it there. It’s a perfect place for beach pictures, with a taste of dominican style houses, plenty of colours and patterns.

During this photosession, something funny happened to us. A dog stepped in and sat quietly next to our couple.

Everyone (including the dog) where so confortable that we keep on doing our photosession. The result? Nice pictures with a new local friend!

We really enjoyed this photosession and all the team feels very proud of the results! Congratulations to the couple and we wish you the best in your future marriage!

Cara and Carlos destination wedding in Saint Martin / Sint Marteen

Cara and Carlos destination wedding in Saint Martin / Sint Marteen

What a wonderful story, I was booked for a wedding in the nearby island of Saint Martin, located to the east of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. It s been an amazing time in that island with Cara and Carlos for their wedding. When I was talking with Cara about the job I was warned that “we are quite informal, we want nothing too serious”, so my feelings were “If that s their flow, I need to be ready to capture that spontaneity in the images”. From there, I was aware that a part of the job was focusing on that. I needed to keep my elegant approach to the captures and at the same time join Cara and Carlos in being as informal as they wanted to be, and then use that to create the images. The wedding location was La Samanna, a marvelous and luxurious boutique resort near the shore of Long Bay, in the french side of the friendly Saint Martin island, which is an amazing island for a destination wedding or elopement. It has 35 square kilometers, so a very affordable size to discover every corner. What a place to get lost…

So, I started shooting some portraits for Carlos, trying to get some good shots of his wedding attire and capture his mood while he was waiting before the ceremony. I went up to their villa, and started working with the bouquet and the rings while Cara was preparing, and then I started her portrait session. I thought there was a beautiful natural light coming into the terrace, so I shot with no flash, just letting the golden hour light guide me in my job. I think those photos came out amazing. The ceremony was in the sand, and I was alone with Cara, Carlos, and the Master of Ceremonies in a fantastic beach under the sunset. What a great scenario to get married. The ceremony was quite short, but it kept by the essentials and I was on my own capturing the moment. After the big kiss we started walking along this unique rocky coastline, so quiet and idyllic. I started picturing them with some directions for moves and poses when needed, and letting them be spontaneous 99% of the time. I wanted to achieve spontaneity also by a natural light, which was fine to use on that day, as I was not bringing any assistant that could help me with that part. To achieve that, we waited a bit after the ceremony to get the sun as down as possible and shoot with no hard shadows. However, I felt that I still needed some more fine pictures of them together, and asked them for a quick appointment for the very next day, as by that time we had shot quite a few and we were running out of any light.

The next morning was very bright, and this is something that can really make a photo look ugly, as people start to squint very often. A good advice is to keep the sunglasses on until we are going to shoot an image, and then take them off and discretely hang them by the back of your shirt when ready. I always tell people to take all the time needed to avoid squinting, the caribbean is very bright and it s hard to get used to it, but you have to. Cara and Carlos were receptive and straight forward to this almost all the time, we stopped when they needed and we let them take their time. That helped a lot for the images to look great, and that is something that makes me feel so good. I am in joy when I realize I help people remember for many many time one of the most important days of their life, so I need to stay alert all the time for those details. I wish to thank Cara and Carlos for letting me a part of their fun trip to Saint Martin, I know it s an effort to fly someone in. I hope I can explain enough my gratitude towards them for appreciating my work as a wedding photographer. About the place, what can be said. Saint Martin was an awesome place to visit, I wouldn´t hesitate on visiting again, specially Friars and Orient Bays were amazing. Good bye friendly island! Best wishes Cara and Carlos!
